Let's party! Learners will be planning and shopping for a classroom party - which they will then set up and host. Learners will be able to create and execute a plan, identify necessary items, research, make decisions, communicate with peers, follow step-by-step instructions and budget with the supports from structured before, during and after activities. This SPED resource comes with three versions to support your learners needs.

Terms of Use

Version #1: In the BEFORE activity (prior to your CBI), learners will work in small groups and participate in a class discussion to decide what decor/tableware will be purchased for the party as well as what craft and recipe will be completed. Learners will paste pictures of needed ingredients, materials and items prior to their CBI. In the DURING activity, learners will shop for needed ingredients, materials and items. They will check off the items once found in the store. For the AFTER activity, learners will throw a party! They will follow set up instructions prior to the party and will complete a review by answering and circling questions with visual supports.

Version #2: In the BEFORE activity, learners will work in small groups and participate in a class discussion to decide what decor/tableware will be purchased for the party as well as what craft and recipe will be completed. Learners will have visual and open ended questions. In the DURING activity, learners will shop for their ingredients, materials and items. Prior to the CBI, learners will write down their needed items and, as they shop, check the items off as they go. For the AFTER activity, learners will throw a party! They will follow instructions on how to set up the party and after will complete a review by answering written and visually supported questions.

Version #3: In the BEFORE activity, learners will work in small groups and participate in a class discussion to decide what decor/tableware will be purchased for the party as well as what craft and recipe will be completed. The class can choose to use the provided visual craft and recipe guides or they can work as groups to research their own. DURING the CBI, learners will shop for needed ingredients, materials and items. They will record their needed items prior to CBI and during they will record the cost and check off items as they go. For the AFTER activity, learners will throw a party! They will follow instructions on how to set up the party and after will complete a review by answering written questions.

CBI will take place in a retail store such as Walmart or Target.
