Take your learners holiday shopping at the mall! Learners will execute a plan for purchasing holiday gifts, practice fine motor skills by wrapping gifts, use communication skills to assess others interests, complete transactions, follow a shopping list and create, follow and assess a budget with the supports from structured before, during and after activities. This SPED resource comes with three versions to support your learners needs.

Terms of Use

Version #1: In the BEFORE activity (prior to your CBI), learners will cut/paste pictures to decide who and what they are shopping for. Additionally, they will circle the amount of money they have to spend. In the DURING activity, learners will cut/paste pictures in a shopping list to show who they are shopping for and what they plan to get each person. They will proceed to purchase these items at the mall. For the AFTER activity, learners will wrap their presents and participate in a review activity.

Version #2: In the BEFORE activity, learners will write down who they plan to purchase gifts for and gift ideas. They are prompted to set a budget per person. In the DURING activity, learners will write down who they are shopping for and what they plan to get them on their shopping list. They will shop for these items at the mall. Learners will need to record the cost of items to stay aware of budget. For the AFTER activity, learners will wrap their presents and participate in a review activity.

Version #3: In the BEFORE activity, learners will write down who they plan to purchase gifts for and gift ideas. They will determine a budget per person and will discuss how these items will be paid for. DURING the CBI, learners will write down who they are shopping for and what they plan to purchase each person as a gift. Additionally, learners will write down the store name and the cost per item to stay aware of budget. For the AFTER activity, learners will wrap their presents and participate in a review activity.

All BEFORE activities are to be completed at home and reviewed in class. Gift idea lists are included in each version.
