Learners will navigate to various sections of a hardware store, identify items included in a hardware store, describe the use of various hardware store items, explore items needed for different projects and crafts and predict items found in various sections (V3).

Terms of Use

Version #1: In the BEFORE activity (prior to your CBI), learners will match images of hardware store sections via cut/paste. In the DURING activity, learners will cut/paste and match hardware store items by exploring each section. For the AFTER activity, learners will match grouped hardware store items with a project or craft. Learners will be directed to share their responses with a partner.

Version #2: In the BEFORE activity, using a word bank, will write the hardware section underneath the matching picture. In the DURING activity, learners will find various hardware store items and will identify the correct section with cut/paste supports. Learners will circle the purpose/use for each item. For the AFTER activity, learners will match grouped hardware store items with a project or craft by using a word bank. Learners will be directed to participate in discussion questions when finished.

Version #3: In the BEFORE activity, learners will predict items that could be found in each hardware store section. In the DURING activity, learners will go to each section of the hardware store, write down an item and its purpose/use. For the AFTER activity, learners will write down a predicted project or craft based on a set of hardware store items. They will write down their own list of items and quiz a classmate. Learners will participate in discussion questions when finished.
