This resource is for SPED instructors which allows learners to participate in a self-reflection for Community Based Instruction. Three different versions are included to meet the needs of your learners.

Community Based Instruction (CBI) promotes the teaching and use of academic and functional skills in the learners natural environment. Where can CBI take place? Think about the learners natural environment such as the grocery store, library, hardware store, garden center, restaurants & so much more! This resource allows learners to self-reflect on their skills out in the community. The CBI "FACTS" are highlighted in this reflection.

Version #1: Learners will identify the CBI location, choose what type of transportation was taken, participate in an introduction on the FACTS rating and reflect on their favorite CBI. This version includes three pages of visuals for a cut/paste format.

Version #2: Learners will be able to identify the CBI location, choose what type of transportation was taken, rate themselves on the FACTS, asses what skills were learned/practiced, identify transactions & purchases, reflect how to apply the CBI to their lives and a final reflection on skills to improve on, personal rating and favorite CBI. This version is supported with visuals including limited questions for write in responses.

Version #3: Learners will be able to identify the CBI location, choose what type of transportation was taken, rate themselves on the FACTS, asses what skills were learned/practiced, identify purchases & analyze budgets, reflect how to apply the CBI to their lives and a final reflection on skills to improve on, personal rating and favorite CBI. This version has questions for write-in responses with some supported visuals.

This PDF resource can be used after each CBI or on a weekly basis. Teacher tip: laminate the version that best suits your learners needs. When the student finishes completing the reflection, input the responses into the FREEBIE Google Form for simple data tracking!

Resource most closely aligns with standard CCSS.CCRA.W.4; however, fits in a range from middle school through adulthood.  Content is created to fit a modified standard.
